TO THE STUYVESANT COMMUNITY
Many have contacted Principal Stan Teitel with offers of assistance to Mr. and Mrs. Piro whose daughter Valerie suffered a spinal cord injury while travelling with other members of the Stuyvesant Race Walking Team to a competition. Valerie has been undergoing rehab at The Rusk Institute since the end of January. Because of the enormous medical costs incurred by the Piro family, a fund has been created at Stuyvesant to help defray these expenses. Donors should make checks payable to Stuyvesant High School with "Valerie Piro Fund" written on the memo line and sent to Stan Teitel, Stuyvesant H.S., 345 Chambers Street, NYC 10282.
