I. SCHOLARSHIPS
A. Association of Black Educators of New York – Graduating seniors are eligible to apply for this award. There are many requirements for this scholarship including four letters of recommendation and a resume detailing extra-curricular activities, community and school service. Pick up applications for this scholarship in the College Office. Deadline: March 24, 2001.
B. GreenPoint
Foundation – GreenPoint Achievers Scholarship Program: Applicants must be depositors or their
dependents of the GreenPoint Bank and High school seniors who have cumulative
minimum 3.0 grade point average and minimum SAT’s of 1,000. Scholarships in the amount of $2500
will be awarded each year. Pick up
application in the College Office.

E. Zaglin Scholarship Fund: If
you graduated from Public School 225, Brooklyn, you may be eligible for this
$2500 award. Pick up application
in the College Office. Deadline: April 16
D. Turner
Construction Company Youth Force 2020 Scholarships Program – Four
scholarships of $2000 will be awarded to students who plan to major in
Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. Turner Construction Company will also
offer a summer job to the winners.

E. Puerto
Rican Educators Association Scholarship – In order to be eligible for
this Scholarship students must be Hispanic, have an 88 average, and have
demonstrated community involvement and strong leadership qualities. Deadline: March 9
F. “Will
to Win” Asthma Athlete Scholarship Program. The Schering/Key, leaders in respiratory are, sponsors the
annual “Will to Win” Asthma Athlete scholarship for high school
scholar-athletes with asthma. All
high school students who will graduate in 2001 and have achieved excellence in
both competitive sports and high school academics are eligible. Pick up an application in the College
Office. Deadline: April 30, 2001
G. Check
Cashiers Association of New York Inc. (CCANY) Rewarding Young Leaders in our
Community - Seniors will be selected based on leadership skills at school
and in community, financial need and academic achievement. Award winners will receive $3,000
scholarships. Applicants must also
be able to demonstrate community involvement contributing at least 10 hours of
volunteer service during 12th grade. Sign up and SEE Ms. Pat Cleary.

H. New
York Tri-State McDonald’s Owners/Operators are proud to offer
scholarships to qualified students in the Tri-State area through the Arching
Into Education Scholarship program. The 2001 Program includes four
scholarships: The McDonald’s
UNCF Tri-State Scholarships, McDonald’s GospelFest Music Scholarships,
McDonald’s African American Heritage Scholarships and the New York
Tri-State Black McDonald’s Owner/Operator Association (BMOA)
Scholarships. You must be African
American for all scholarships except the GospelFest Music Scholarship.
Additional requirements are: be a
U. S. citizen or permanent resident, reside in the New York Tri-State area,
have a cumulative 85 grade point average or equivalent, possess a record of
community service and/or employment and demonstrate financial aid. Deadline: April 30, 2001

A. Boston College hosts “The Day Visit Program” which is open to both seniors who have applied to Boston College and want to get a more in-depth feel, and for juniors who are just beginning their college search. To schedule a visit call (617) 552-3378.
I. COLLEGE FAIRS/OPEN HOUSE
A. Binghamton University – Multi-cultural weekend – March 1-3. Admissions Office is hosting this weekend to talented students of color. If you are interested in attending call (607) 777-6244.
B. Fourth Annual Riverbank State Park College Fair will take place on Saturday, March 3rd from 10-4 at Riverbank State Park located at 145th Street and Riverside Drive in the Cultural Theatre and Gymnasium in Harlem.
C. The Puerto Rican Educators Association and National Hispanic College Fairs, Inc. will sponsor the Hispanic College fair on Wednesday, April 25, 2001. The fair will be held at Lehman College, 250 Bedford Park Boulevard West, Bronx, NY from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. All New York City public high school students are invited to attend. Over 100 colleges and universities will be in attendance.
D. New York City National College Fair will be held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center on Sunday, March 25th from 11-4. Representatives from Colleges will be available to answer your college and financial aid questions. Financial aid information will be given at the NYC National College Fair on Sunday, March 25th at the Jacob Javits Center beginning at 11:30. Sessions will cover information on how to apply for financial aid.
